NEW YORK — Companies like Icerocks and aquaIce are bringing purified water to the US market in filled and sealed ice trays that consumers can buy at room temperature and freeze at home, according to a July 25 article in The Wall Street Journal.
According to the article, manufacturers say that the ice, like bottled water, is meant to provide an extra measure of safety and purity; other experts say that the products are trying to take advantage of the public's anxiety.
