Discussions of the merits of evolution and Intelligent Design can quickly get lost in a maze of claims and counter-claims, as both sides wheel out reams of evidence and counter-evidence. Every single claim leads into yet another maze of technical jargon and scientific subtleties that take hours, if not days, to explain.
It's no wonder spectators throw up their hands and declare, "A pox on both your houses!"
Buried under all this activity, there is another question -- and this one is far more basic.
