Stir Fried Lettuce

This is from a friend's zine in APA-L:
Stir Fried Lettuce
1 – 2 tbsp oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 medium clove of garlic, peeled
1 qt lettuce, torn, washed, and drained
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp dry white wine

Heat the oil in a wok, with the salt and pepper.

When bubbles rise, the oil's hot enough. Add the garlic, stir until cooked but not browned, then discard.

Add the lettuce and stir fry for about 2 minutes. Add the last two ingredients, cover, and steam for one minute.

Uncover, stir until the lettuce is evenly coated with sauce, and serve.
